To Hatch a Thief Page 9
He threw his head back and laughed, the hearty sound whipping around my ears in the wind. “How did I know you’d say that?”

Would you like to try one of the cocktails Maggie made for the To Catch a Thief movie night? There are a few variations on this classic cocktail that gained popularity in 1920s Paris. Here’s Maggie’s favorite combo!
ROSE COCKTAIL
2 oz (60ml) dry vermouth
1 oz (30ml) Kirschwasser
1 tsp raspberry syrup or Chambord
Put all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake vigorously.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Maggie’s tip: If you’re serving a series of gin-based cocktails, you can easily add 1oz dry gin, and lower the amount of dry vermouth from 2oz to 1 oz.
